Offering Computer Skill Development Initiave
ETS Computer Skills Development Initiative is a program based on computer literacy for learners from grade 4 – 12 in local schools.
ETS: Computer Skill Development Initiative Division (Tutoring at school) – a service that is aimed at giving to the community youths with the help of knowing & developing computer skills while integrating the ICTs into learning areas to improve learner performance.
The initiative was initiated/piloted in 2016 at Matale Secondary with the approval of The Principal, School Governing Body & Parents of learners at Matale Secondary. At the time of pilot for ETS: CSDI, we were teaching only grade 8 – 9 learners whom we are proud to say we have had a possitive inpact on their lives through ETS: CSDI. In the same year, towards the end of 2016, we began talks with Bafokeng High School which is also situated in Phokeng.
Our presentation to the principal, Mr JPR Mosue was welcomed and seen as a positive initiatve to help learners at the school not in just the computer skills but also in other various subjects. The SGB approved our proposal and so did the parents in 2017. In term 2, 2017, ETS: CSDI was introduced at Bafokeng High School. But before we could start with our program, we had to do an evaluation of the schoosl computer lab so that we upgrade coputer systems and install the softwares that are needed for ETS CSDI. Upon successful Evaluation, Recommendation and Repairs by ETS: Repairs Division, only then was CSDI started at Bafokeng in term 2.
The program was introduced from grade 8 – 12 learner for the entire school. Since it was introduced at Bafokeng High in 2017, ETS CSDI has been at Bafokeng to date.
