Internet On A PC Without A Modem

Accessing the internet without a modem – ETS TIP – 11-04-2018

Got a PC but no MODEM or ROUTER to access the internet?

Well no need to worry. ETS Repairs is here to advice you on the easiest and affordable way to access internet on your Computer without having to buy a modem.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

1. PC/Notebook/Netbook
2. ANDROID-POWERED DEVICE (Smartphone)
3. USB Cable
4. DATA from your Phone (SIM-card).

FIRST STEP

• SWITCH ON your PC/Notebook/Netbook (make sure it Is connected to a power source and/or is charging).
• Look at your bottom left of your desktop, you should see the time and date on the TASK BAR.
• Look at the NETWORK ICON that shows a monitor with a red X on it. That shows your PC/Notebook/Netbook does not have internet access or is not connected to a network.

SECOND STEP

• Take your ANDROID-POWERED DEVICE (smartphone/tablet) and make sure you have data loaded onto your SIM-card (5). On your device enable data connectivity on it.
  • On your Smartphone go to SETTINGS
  • Select Mobile hotspot and tethering (some devices you click on More then you access Tethering and mobile hotspot)
  • Now connect your USB CABLE to the PC/Notebook/Netbook
  • Connect your smartphone to your USB CABLE
  • Select USB tethering (share this devices internet connection)
• • The network icon should start loading then when the internet connectivity is now shared onto your PC/notebook/netbook.
  • The network icon should appear as a monitor without the red line across it to show internet connectivity.

FINAL STEP

• Click on your desired web browser and start surfing the internet.
